A Little Dream seeks to move, inspire and engage our wedding couples and guests with the magic of live music. A professional wedding live band comprising more than 20 versatile singers, emcees, songwriters and musicians, A Little Dream provides a one-stop service for your music needs. Hsin Yeow's thoughts: For Once In My Life

Q:What happens when you put a bunch of wedding photographers in a room?
A: They shoot each other, of course.

My lame excuse of a joke aside, I was thrilled when I got a call from Edmund, the treasurer of The Wedding Photographers Association (Singapore) (WPAS), inviting A Little Dream to be the official band for the WPAS Social Nite.

The social nite was really an opportunity for photographers and other wedding vendors to share their knowledge and have a bit of fun at the same time.

Before I sang the first song of the evening, I joked, "Today must be the most inauspicious day of the year. How else can you explain why so many of you are not booked?"

It was great to see some familiar faces in the audience, like Sam from Vocare and Ernest from Miror Creations.

Apart from entertaining the audience with our songs, Eleanor did a great job as emcee, stringing together the various speeches and items eloquently and effortlessly.

Through the night, we had the opportunity to enjoy the performances by various members of the band, and each brought something uniquely theirs to the stage. The opening number by Hsin Yeow was indeed a heart stopper, packed with much emotion and grandeur. :)

The emcee, Eleanor, was also quick on her toes with our last minute changes in programme sequences.

How do you place a price on memories?

The intriguing theme at Yu Hsin's interactive website really encapsulates what quality wedding photography is all about. Memories, no matter how vivid at the beginning, fade with time, so Yu Hsin and his team work damned hard to make sure that your memories of the wedding are captured in stunning form.

I have been a big fan of Yu Hsin's works, ever since I met him at Nelson and Shufen's wedding.

Ever since its formation, 39 East has been a trailblazer in more ways than one. According to Eng Hong, a fantastic 39 East photographer with whom I had the pleasure of having tea one afternoon, Chi Kuang shook up the wedding photography industry by producing contemporary fine art wedding images.


39 East's latest achievement is to set up an office in California, helmed by Dana, a former photojournalist with the Ventura County Star. Talk about going international!

Hsin Yeow's thoughts: An afternoon with Gilbert Chua, 9 Frames

I met Gilbert one afternoon for tea at Dome Cafe. He showed me his latest set of name cards, which broke away from tradition by NOT featuring a photograph of a wedding couple.

"Why do what everyone else is doing?" That was his matter-of-fact reply when I asked for the reason behind his unconventional choice.

This summarises Gilbert's strengths and personality. He's deathly afraid of stagnating, and is always looking for breakthroughs in his work. He reveals that his focus this year is to capture more facial expressions, not just of the wedding couple, but people close to them. He wants anyone who's viewing his works to feel as if he's right there in the thick of the action. Take a look at some of his sublime photographs:
