Bevlyn's thoughts: 心有独钟 (Only For You)
Jiayan and Stanley had chosen Armenian Church, the oldest church in Singapore for their church wedding (click here for impressive history of Singaporeans commemorated on its grounds), and the theme of the celebration was garden reception completed with tentage, bright sunlight and of course live music!
Halfway through the reception, I walked up to Stanley and asked him to sing a song for Jiayan. He panicked a bit, brain-stormed through his repertoire of ready-to sing songs and asked to give him 2 minutes. By the time I finished a song, he already decided on 心有独钟 (Only For You), a song which aptly describes how he feels for his wife.
Armed without any rehearsal experience or lyrics to speak of, he gamely sang the whole song, much to the applause and cheers of friends and relatives. Jiayan had told me earlier on she would not sing, but she had arranged for me to sing a song to dedicate it to Stanley - How Do I Live. I am glad music played an instrumental part in relaying their love for each other.
Soon after, a friend Johnny came up and jammed a song with us - 你最珍贵 (You're The Most Precious One). It was all for good fun!
Thank you Jiayan and Stanley for inviting us to celebrate your union, and for giving us such a memorable experience of performing at Armenian Church!

Songs To Recommend:
Imagine Me Without You by Jaci Velasquez: A Christian song that I like to sing! Lyrics here
Only One by 顺子: This song was the theme song for Taiwan drama serial 第101次求婚 (The 101st wedding proposal), so it could not be more apt for weddings!
Then You Look At Me by Celine Dion: I have to admit when I first listened to this song, I did not really take to it. But after a few listens (and singing), it really got under my skin!
I'll Take Care Of You by Steven Curtis Chapman: I fell in love with this song before Curtis even started singing. I felt totally ambushed by romanticism due to the arrangement and the whole feel of the song!
You Were There by Southern Sons: This is such a classic love song yet so underrated in weddings. Choose it, we want to sing! :)
