At The Beginning...
To start you off, here are our answers to your burning questions.
And do read our quick round up of 2008.
Michelle and Julian are based in Hong Kong, so I can imagine how hard it was for them to coordinate a wedding in Singapore. Nevertheless, Julian had the idea of singing a song to serenade his wife with the help of the band. I promptly forwarded the Youtube link of <<为你钟情>> by Leslie Chung (without hearing it myself) to Adeline and Shawn so that they could accompany him on the day. Hence, the first time I officially hear the song was from Julian's mouth - I was blown-away, not only by the super beautiful melody, but also by Julian's thick baritone voice, sincerely sung to his bride who soon teared a verse into the song.

You might too, if you listen to this:
Though Julian was a tad nervous before the start of it (which was very forgivable because he did not even rehearse with the band when we arrived), he soon found his ground and wowed everyone to give him wild applause at the end of it.
I've always loved speeches at weddings, and this wedding is really memorable for the excellent speeches by two of Julian's good friends cum colleagues, and Michelle's best friend. Apparently the couple had gotten to be more acquainted with each other when they were sent to Hong Kong on a work assignment. After years of marathon-dating, finally Julian popped the question!
Another highlight of the wedding was to see Gilbert from 9 Frames! See the promotion we have with 9 Frames here. We're thrilled to have these beautiful photos from Gilbert:

Serene's Thoughts: 月亮代表我的心 (The Moon Represents My Heart)
When the groom dropped by to say hello to the band during our sound check, his "brothers" started teasing him, telling us that the groom can sing pretty well. We dropped a suggestion for him to surprise his bride with a song and the brothers happily joined in the pitch and there were, happily throwing all kinds of suggestions into the air, which the groom shyly turned down, telling us that he was already very nervous and was afraid he wouldn't do a good job.
Shortly after, one of the brothers informed us that the groom decided to sing "月亮代表我的心 (The Moon Represents My Heart)" for his bride…. The beauty of weddings, where you see the groom will stop at nothing to do everything special for his bride. To me, such moments are always extremely heart warming and priceless.

A beautiful moment captured by Gilbert, one of our trusted partners.

For the 2nd March In, Pearlyne changed into a sweet pink evening gown and she looked saccharin sweet with her lovely smile. The couple went on to deliver very touching speeches. We were given a glimpse of their lives and how much they love each other, and how Glen and Pearlyne two individuals with very kind hearts and caring personalities, were bounded very much by God, love, humility, gratitude. A few times, Pearlyne was moved to tears during her speech while thanking her parents and her husband. Hence, she was very much taken aback by the surprise item, and it was a lovely sight to her holding Glen's hand while he performed the song for her.
The band had a great evening. We enjoyed the wonderful response for the guests and their many dedications.
Finally, we would like to thank Glen and Pearlyne for engaging A Little Dream to be a part of your special day. Our heartiest congratulations to you both, and our best wishes for your exciting future ahead.

Hi Bevlyn,
The band was great! We received numerous compliments on the the band and the wonderful music.
We both loved the music that night. The band played an important role in creating and setting the atmosphere for the night. Our guests were very much entertained and enjoyed themselves throughout the dinner.
Ein Ein was terrific on the keyboard and Serene's voice was truly wonderful. We are really glad that we engaged A Little Dream to be with us on our special day. Once more, thank you so much!

I met Gilbert one afternoon for tea at Dome Cafe. He showed me his latest set of name cards, which broke away from tradition by NOT featuring a photograph of a wedding couple.
"Why do what everyone else is doing?" That was his matter-of-fact reply when I asked for the reason behind his unconventional choice.
This summarises Gilbert's strengths and personality. He's deathly afraid of stagnating, and is always looking for breakthroughs in his work. He reveals that his focus this year is to capture more facial expressions, not just of the wedding couple, but people close to them. He wants anyone who's viewing his works to feel as if he's right there in the thick of the action. Take a look at some of his sublime photographs:

Rebecca and Ker Yang know a thing or two about personalising a wedding celebration. For one, they got a company to arrange for their wedding guests' text messages to be displayed on a screen. Some of these heartwarming messages include:
"Time to form your own soccer team with your kids!"
- From 4E3 NHSS plus Yong Hao, Serene, Guo Quan and Yee Teng
"Congratulations to the little princess and prince"
- Best wishes, your sis and brother-in-law
"Congratulations! Earn baby bonus. Only time govt giving money!"
- From 4E4 NHNS
Another novel touch was to place a champagne at each table, so more guests could join in the fun of popping the bottle. It was quite a scene, hearing the sounds of "Pop! Pop! Pop!" during the champagne pouring ceremony.

But what made the wedding memorable for me was the couple's spontaneous attitude. They went along with whatever I threw at them.
Slow dance? No problem! Ker Yang and Rebecca held each other close and swayed along to my rendition of She, prompting another couple to join them. The audience gave both couples thunderous applause.

Singing? Easy-peasy. I walked over to Ker Yang when I was singing 爱很简单 (Love Is Very Simple), and motioned him to sing the chorus, which starts with a rousing, "I love you!" Ker Yang obliged readily, to Rebecca's delight. "Psst!" A friend of Ker Yang whispered to me, "Ker Yang is a karaoke king!" No wonder.
How about an encore? Of course! Ker Yang delivered the final song of the evening, My Love Will Get You Home. His friends had painstakingly written a copy of the lyrics and passed it to him so that he could surprise Rebecca by serenading her with a complete song, onstage in front of all their guests. The applause from the audience was deafening.
