Bevlyn's thoughts: If I'm Not In Love With You

Raffles Marina is breath-taking. Even though it is a little out of the way, the picturesque scenery more than compensates for it. The first thing we did when we arrived was to take loads of pictures with our camera phones - see just how distracting the scenery is!

One big pull factor to have your wedding at Raffles Marina is, you get to have a "sail-in" on top of a march-in.

George and Allison sailed towards the dock in the club boat Olivia while all the guests gathered at the dock to witness them alight on land, and march-in hand-in-hand towards the marquee foyer where they had their solemnisation ceremony.

The couple had another march-in again before the commencement of the buffet dinner. And unlike the SOP, the couple chose to have the cake-cutting, champagne-pouring and toast all done one after the other. Hence the rest of the evening was pretty free and easy - they could mingle with the guests and not have to worry about any other programmes.

I was pretty exhilarated when I first saw the songlist because they had chosen many duets! A couple which I really enjoyed singing were Don't Know Much and Destiny because they are excellent love songs but very much underrated in weddings.

Even though the guests were more reserved in nature, we felt relieved to know they were enjoying the songs because we saw some of the guests' mouths move along with us when we sing certain popular songs. And what made the evening even more enjoyable for us was the attention of a 2-year-old boy Darrius, whose doe-eyes and multiple-fly kisses (by the seeming act of slapping himself many times on his face) melted us to a pool.

Allocate time to mingle with your guests!
