Bevlyn's Thoughts: Always and Forever
Michelle and Julian are based in Hong Kong, so I can imagine how hard it was for them to coordinate a wedding in Singapore. Nevertheless, Julian had the idea of singing a song to serenade his wife with the help of the band. I promptly forwarded the Youtube link of <<为你钟情>> by Leslie Chung (without hearing it myself) to Adeline and Shawn so that they could accompany him on the day. Hence, the first time I officially hear the song was from Julian's mouth - I was blown-away, not only by the super beautiful melody, but also by Julian's thick baritone voice, sincerely sung to his bride who soon teared a verse into the song.

You might too, if you listen to this:
Though Julian was a tad nervous before the start of it (which was very forgivable because he did not even rehearse with the band when we arrived), he soon found his ground and wowed everyone to give him wild applause at the end of it.
I've always loved speeches at weddings, and this wedding is really memorable for the excellent speeches by two of Julian's good friends cum colleagues, and Michelle's best friend. Apparently the couple had gotten to be more acquainted with each other when they were sent to Hong Kong on a work assignment. After years of marathon-dating, finally Julian popped the question!
Another highlight of the wedding was to see Gilbert from 9 Frames! See the promotion we have with 9 Frames here. We're thrilled to have these beautiful photos from Gilbert:

I Won't Last A Day Without You by Carpenters - the lyrics is very meaningful, and the melody is insanely good!

Hsin Yeow's thoughts: Better Man
Dean's gung-ho, never-say-die attitude made him an instantly likeable guy.
For example, I wish I were present at the gate-crashing just to watch the bridesmaid's faces as they see Dean and his band of brothers turn up wearing pirate outfits! I doubt anyone can keep a straight face in front of a 'pirate' who wears glasses and has a winning smile. See exhibit A below.

This 'pirate' can sing too! After some hemming and hawing, Dean decided to throw caution to the wind, and perform a song of his choice. He had no prior rehearsal, but it didn't show at all.
"Send someone to love me! I need to rest in arms,
Keep me safe from harm, in pouring rain"
That someone was the lovely Candy, who smiled serenely throughout Dean's surprise performance of Robbie William's Better Man. Dean later told me that it was the first song Candy had heard him sing while they were dating, and he wanted to relive that moment.
Thanks to Dean and Candy, we had a great time at the wedding, performing a set of mainly pop tunes, with a refreshing twist. In particular, I have to give it to Linus and Feri for deftly turning Top Of The World into a bossa nova tune. When Juliet heard the new arrangement, she improvised on the phrasing without batting an eyelid. Bravo!
The finale of the wedding was a performance by the groomsmen and bridesmaids. Initially, Dean told me it would sung by "a few guys". It turned out to be a massive group of about 20, singing the uplifting number about friendship, That's What Friends Are For. It was an unforgettable moment!

Congratulations, Dean and Candy! We had a marvellous time, and we hope to see you again soon!
Band: Hsin Yeow, Juliet, Linus, Feri

L-R: Linus, Hsin Yeow (the camera hates me!), Candy, Dean, Juliet, Feri
Repertoire:
Can You Celebrate? (1st march-in), Greatest Story Ever Told, When You Say Nothing At All, Towani Tomoni, The Wedding Song, Everything I Do (I Do It For You), Better Man, Close To You, 天使 (Angel), 你最珍贵 (You're The Most Precious), I Finally Found Someone
I Only Wanna Be With You (2nd march-in), Something Stupid, 今天你要嫁给我 (I'm Marrying You Today), Best Friend, From This Moment, You're Still The One, 有你真好 (It's So Good To Have You), Save The Best For The Last, Top Of The World, That’s What Friends Are For
Songs To Recommend:
There were a number of Japanese guests in the audience, so Dean requested a few Japanese tunes. These are the two Juliet had to learn specially for the wedding:

Hsin Yeow's thoughts: 爱很简单 (Love Is Very Simple)
There is a saying which goes, "近水楼台先得月,向阳花木易为春" (The pavilion closest to the water gets the moonlight, the flowers facing the sun bloom easily.)
For Daniel and Su Lin, love blossomed when they stayed at the same college/hostel, John's XXIII College at the Australian National University in Canberra. When Daniel graduated, he moved back to Singapore while Su Lin remained in Sydney to study and work.
What sealed it for them was the fact that they managed a long-distance relationship from 2003 to 2007 till Su Lin eventually moved to Singapore in 2008. Some say love is simple, but I personally feel it is hard work to maintain a relationship, especially a long-distance one. What a feat!
Judy and Matthew enjoyed themselves very much while performing at the wedding. The audience was very warm, and they loved the song choices, especially the Mandarin numbers.
Judy remembered there was a birthday boy in the audience. He came up to the band, and she sang him a birthday song. Another highlight was a special performance from none other than the groom himself. Daniel sang 爱很简单 (Love Is Very Simple) (a very appropriate song, now that they are no longer living in different continents!) to rousing applause.
Congratulations, Su Lin and Daniel!
Band: Judy, Matthew
Repertoire:
Can't Take My Eyes Off You (1st March-In), From This Moment, 遇见 (Encounter), If We Hold On Together, 最浪漫的事 (The Most Romantic Thing), Close To You, 我只在乎你 (I Only Care About You), 月亮代表我的心 (The Moon Represents My Heart), Love Will Keep Us Alive, 约定 (Promise), Have I Told You Lately
L-O-V-E (2nd march-in), 家后 (Queen Of The House), Love Is The Greatest Gift Of All, 至少还有你 (At Least There Is You), What A Wonderful World, 一人一半 (One Half), You're Still The One, 爱很简单 (Love Is Very Simple), Quando Quando Quando, 爱是你眼里的一首情歌 (Love Is A Song In Your Eyes), Save The Last Dance For Me
